Ingredients
Scale:
2 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour)
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. The brownies are done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
Let the brownies cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing into squares.
