Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar added)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon until well combined.
In another bowl, mix the melted butter, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and fully combined.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture together using a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined.
Carefully fold in the chopped strawberries and chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Divide the batter among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Once baked, remove the muffins from the oven and let them cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
