Red Velvet Brownies with Cream Cheese Icing offer an irresistible combination of rich chocolatey goodness and the delightful flavor of red velvet. This dessert is perfect for any occasion, especially during the holidays, when festive treats are a must.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon red food coloring
8 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined and glossy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Stir in the vanilla extract and red food coloring until fully incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until there are no lumps.
Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
Transfer the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center; it should come out with a few moist crumbs.
Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan on a wire rack.
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
Once the brownies are completely cool, spread the cream cheese icing evenly over the top.
