Ingredients
Scale:
4 (6-ounce) flaky white fish fillets (such as cod, halibut, or tilapia)
1 teaspoon lemon herb seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
Zest of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if you prefer to bake the fish fillet. For a pan-seared option, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
Season both sides of the fish fillets with lemon herb seasoning, salt, and pepper.
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, allowing the mixture to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
If baking, place the fish fillets in a baking dish, and pour half of the lemon garlic butter sauce over the top. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
For pan-searing, add a tablespoon of oil to the hot skillet. Cook the fish fillets for 4-5 minutes on each side.
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
