Instructions

  1. Begin by patting the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Reserve half of the honey BBQ sauce to use as a glaze later. Place the chicken in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish and pour the remaining sauce over it. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375-400°F). Allow the grill grates to heat up.
  5. Remove the chicken from the marinade and discard the used marinade. Place the chicken directly on the grill and grill for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Brush the reserved honey BBQ sauce onto the chicken during the last 2 minutes of grilling.
  6. Once fully cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
