- 4 ounces of deli turkey breast, sliced thin

- 1/4 avocado, sliced (optional)
- 1/2 cup of fresh spinach or mixed greens
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Tomato slices (optional)
- Pickles or cucumber slices (optional)
- Red onion, thinly sliced (optional)
- Fresh herbs like basil or cilantro (optional)
Instructions
- Start by preparing your ingredients. Wash and slice the vegetables as needed.
- In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard to create a flavorful spread.
- Lay the two slices of bread on a clean surface. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on one side of each slice.
- On one slice of bread, layer the turkey slices evenly.
- Add the cheese slice on top of the turkey. If using optional toppings like avocado or spinach, layer them on next.
- Season with salt and pepper and add any additional toppings.
- Top with the second slice of bread, mayonnaise side down. Press down gently to help the sandwich hold together.
- If you prefer a warm sandwich, heat a skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwich for 2-3 minutes per side.
- Once done, remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before slicing it in half.
