Cowboy Butter Spaghetti is a deliciously rich dish that combines the comforting flavors of garlic butter sauce with the beloved pasta staple of spaghetti. This recipe takes a classic Italian-inspired meal and gives it a Southern twist, making it perfect for weeknight dinners or any time you crave a hearty, flavorful meal.
Ingredients
Scale:
12 ounces spaghetti
Salt (for boiling water, about 1 tablespoon)
1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), preferably high-quality for the best flavor
4 cloves garlic, minced, fresh garlic is recommended for maximum aroma
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed for brightness
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust according to your heat preference)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, adds depth to the sauce
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped, for a pop of color and freshness
1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped, to enhance the herbaceous notes
Salt and pepper to taste
Grated Parmesan cheese, to add savory richness
Additional fresh herbs for garnish (optional, such as basil or extra parsley)
Instructions
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, and Dijon mustard. Mix well and allow to simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
Once the spaghetti is cooked, reserve ½ cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta. Add the drained spaghetti directly to the skillet with the Cowboy Butter Sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
Stir in the chopped parsley and chives. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another minute to warm through.
Plate the Cowboy Butter Spaghetti and top with grated Parmesan cheese and additional herbs for garnish if desired.
