Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1-inch piece ginger, grated
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon gochugaru (optional)
1 lb tender beef cuts (ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced)
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Cooked white rice or steamed rice
Green onions, sliced
Sesame seeds
Korean pickles or kimchi (optional)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and gochugaru if using. Whisk until the sugar dissolves completely.
Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
Remove the beef from the marinade and add it to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook without stirring for about 2-3 minutes until it starts to caramelize.
Stir the beef and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until it is cooked through but still tender.
Serve immediately over cooked rice, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
